Jim Diamond and the Groove Syndicate (#226)
A Northern Kentucky-based group brings the blues to Jubilee.
Since launching their blues career in Cincinnati, Jim Diamond and his band, the Groove Syndicate, have gone on to make international blues waves. Past host of numerous blues jams in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, Diamond pulls from a wide array of influences in crafting his music. The Groove Syndicates sound is a mix of swing, traditional blues, and the rocking Texas variety, and the bands live shows are always powerful, slick, and surprisingfully engaging the audience by taking it on an excursion through the many sides of the blues.
The group had produced two recordings, 1997s Angel Child and 1999s Somewhere Somehow, at the time of this Jubilee performance. It was taped at the 2000 W.C. Handy Blues Festival in Henderson, KY.
