Barbara Lamb (#303)

Fiddler Barbara Lamb burns up the stage with her eclectic style.

Trying to put a label on the music of fiddle player Barbara Lamb is next to impossible. According to Acoustic Musician magazine: “Babs’ playing is tough, fancy and appealing.... Flashy, hard-driving and eclectic, her style has been called ‘chrome on the range,’ an upbeat repertoire that roams from rockabilly and bluegrass to country and Cajun, from retro-jazz and Western swing to neo-traditional roots music.”

Lamb shows off her eclectic musical styles on this edition of Jubilee, recorded at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, KY.

Barbara Lamb has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion and The Grand Ole Opry and has performed with Lyle Lovett, Riders in the Sky, and Asleep at the Wheel. She won old-time fiddle championships as a teenager and has earned awards in country, pop, and folk music.
