Program Guidelines

Nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, independent producers, government agencies, and others who share and value KET’s mission are invited to submit Kentucky-centered programs to be considered for broadcast on the Kentucky Channel. See the Submission Procedure, Editorial and Content Guidelines, and Technical Requirements for details.

It’s all Kentucky!

KET’s digital Kentucky Channel brings you programs about Kentucky people, places, culture, history, and issues every day of the week. Here’s just some of what you’ll find:

  • More chances to see KET productions, from new episodes of favorite ongoing series to brand-new offerings. See When To Find ... for some examples of regularly scheduled series.
  • Documentaries, biographies, interviews, and arts and cultural programs from KET’s library of 40 years of Kentucky productions.
  • Programs by independent Kentucky filmmakers and other Kentucky-based producers.
  • Extensive live coverage of the Kentucky General Assembly.

KET viewers with digital broadcast receivers will find KET KY on channel -3 of the local KET transmitter (for example, WKPC-3 in Louisville or WKLE-3 in Lexington). The Kentucky Channel is available from midnight to 8:00 pm ET, when our evening high-definition service, KET HD, takes over.

Many cable and satellite systems throughout KET’s viewing area in Kentucky and the seven surrounding states also carry KET KY. Check with your local provider for details.

The CommonHealth of Kentucky

The CommonHealth of Kentucky | Smoking Prevention and Cessation
Kentucky's long history of growing tobacco is reflected in the state's health statistics: We lead the nation in the number of adult and teenaged smokers per capita and in lung cancer deaths per capita. Efforts to reduce those numbers include the Tobacco Free Academy, a free program for 4th through 6th graders in Ashland and Boyd County; the 12-week, science-based Cooper-Clayton Method To Stop Smoking; and anti-smoking ordinances in several communities. 27 minutes.
