"We are most appreciative that Bill Moyers is putting his talents to work for KET," said Virginia G. Fox, KET executive director and CEO. "I know that many Kentuckians admire this man who has made it his business to cover religious and spiritual subjects in such an intelligent manner over the years. This event is an exciting opportunity for KET supporters to meet one of public television's guiding lights."
Moyers has sought to demonstrate the appeal of religion and philosophy as journalistic "beats" with such programs as Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, Amazing Grace, God and Politics, Spirit and Nature, and, most recently, The Wisdom of Faith with Huston Smith. Now he has turned his attention to the Book of Genesis -- "the source of three great religions, with people whose names echo through the centuries and themes as fresh as the morning news." The 10 programs in the new Genesis series bring together biblical scholars, writers, artists, psychotherapists, composers, lawyers, college presidents, and translators to discuss what the Genesis stories say to us today.
Genesis: A Living Conversation will premiere on KET Friday, November 8 at 10:00/9:00 pm CT.
