Dr. Bradley, director of the WKU Center for Gerontology, discusses her research on aging and how government policies affect retirement. At Carnegie Mellon University, she was awarded a Rockefeller Foundation Humanities Fellowship to support her research on the evolution of state government policies related to aging and retirement. She continues to study public policy issues connected with aging, as well as volunteerism and civic engagement among older citizens and the factors that go into individual retirement decisions. Her book Enduring Questions in Gerontology was released in 2005. At Western, her position was established through funds from the state “Bucks for Brains” program.
