Gornik handles the business end of things, while co-founder Jim Thiel heads the product design and engineering operations. Gornik also has taken on a leadership role in the electronics industry, including a term as chair of the Consumer Electronics Association board and executive board. Closer to home, she chairs the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions Board of Directors.
