John David Dyche explains why he chose Sen. Mitch McConnell as the subject of his book, how he gathered information for the book, and why he believes a book about the senator is relevant today.

He also talks about McConnell’s early years in politics, including his leadership positions in high school and college. Dyche offers some facts about the Republican leader that people may not know. For example, McConnell:

  • Opposed the Vietnam War
  • Witnessed Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech
