Carol Jordan, director of the Center for Research on Violence Against Women at the University of Kentucky, recently co-produced a new documentary, The Science of Violence Against Women: The Stories of Women. The documentary includes the personal accounts of three survivors, the viewpoints of three women's advocates, and the scientific perspectives of center staff and faculty.

Jordan, director of the Center for Research on Violence Against Women since its founding in 2003, explains how the new documentary highlights the connection between research and the lives of women. She holds faculty appointments in the UK Department of Psychology and the Department of Psychiatry. She also serves as an assistant provost at UK. The center's areas of research include the mental health effects of violence against women, the clinical management of offenders, and the criminal and civil justice system response to violence against women.
