It's an election year for the U.S. House of Representatives, and in Kentucky Democrats and Republicans are seeking their party's nomination to fill the 4th Congressional District seat that will be left vacant by retiring U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis, R-Hebron. Vying for the seat are two Democrats, William R. 'Bill' Adkins and Greg Frank, and seven Republicans, Marc Carey, Thomas Massie, Gary Moore, Brian D. Oerther, Walter Christian Schumm, Alecia Webb-Edgington, and Tom Wurtz.
In the 3rd Congressional District, U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Louisville, faces a primary challenge from Burrel Charles Farnsley.
Challengers are also competing to face incumbents in the 1st, 5th, and 6th districts:
Democratic primary for the 1st Congressional District: James Buckmaster and Charles Kendall Hatchett
Democratic primary for the 5th Congressional District: Michael Ackerman and Kenneth S. Stepp
Republican primary for the 6th Congressional District: Garland 'Andy' Barr, Patrick J. Kelly II, and Curtis Kenimer.
