Eugenia Wang, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Louisville. A native of Taiwan, she earned her masterís from Northern Michigan University and her doctorate from Case Western Reserve. She moved to Louisville, her husband's hometown, in 2000.
She is director of the Gheens Center for Research on Aging and Age-Related Diseases, which examines genetic mechanisms of the aging process and studies ways to slow or stop age-related diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.
Wang received the 2013 Alltech Medal of Excellence for her pioneering work in using high-throughput technologies to explore the molecular signatures of Alzheimerís disease, other dementias, and heart disease.
