For Release: January 4th, 2000
Hailing from the Richmond, Ky. area, Richard Bennett and Bluetowne have reached "regulars" status on the bluegrass festival scene. This very talented bluegrass group, featuring the stunning guitar work of Bennett, has shared the stage with bluegrass luminaries such as J. D. Crowe and the New South.
Now, Richard Bennett and Bluetowne take the stage for the next episode of Jubilee , airing Thursday, Jan. 20 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET.
Bennett is joined in performance by his band Bluetowne, which features his wife, Wanda Barnett-Bennett, on fiddle. J. D. Crowe also makes a guest appearance, playing banjo on two songs. This performance was taped for Jubilee last summer at the Kentucky Horse Park during the Festival of the Bluegrass.
Jubilee, a KET production in its fifth season, is produced and directed by H. Russell Farmer. The show is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Viewers can find out more about programming on KET by visiting the KET Web site at http://www.ket.org, a Kentucky.com affiliate.
