Bluegrass--Kentucky's contribution to music--performed by a Swiss duo on a Kentucky stage? This heady mixture of styles and accents takes center stage on the next episode of Jubilee , featuring Switzerland's Krüger Brothers. The program airs at 10/9 p.m. CT, Thursday, Feb. 3 on KET.
Jens and Uwe Krüger are two of the most accomplished acoustic musicians living in Switzerland today. Spanning more than two decades, the duo's career began back in 1973. They have performed on a professional level since 1979, covering a wide range of styles but specializing in bluegrass and traditional folk music.
Regular appearances on Switzerland's National TV and Radio (where they had their own show for more than three years), extensive touring throughout Europe and headlining gigs at some of the most prestigious festivals in the "old world" consume the bulk of the duo's time. However, they also enjoy writing, recording and teaching.
Jubilee, a KET production in its fifth season, is produced and directed by H. Russell Farmer. The show is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Viewers can find out more about programming on KET by visiting the KET Web site at http://www.ket.org, a Kentucky.com affiliate.
