An important KET tradition continues this year with daily, in-depth coverage of the 2000 Kentucky General Assembly. But this year, KET is experimenting with a new way to follow the legislative action. By utilizing the latest video streaming software, anyone with a computer and Internet access can watch live, full coverage of the daily General Assembly sessions on KET's Web site.
"At KET, we have always been quick to put cutting-edge technologies to work for Kentuckians," said KET Executive Director and CEO Virginia G. Fox. "Although being on the cutting edge means we will have to overcome the inevitable glitches and challenges, we decided to forge ahead. We're excited about extending legislative coverage through the Internet so that viewers in Kentuckyand across the worldcan see the General Assembly in 'real time.'"
The 2000 Kentucky General Assembly in Regular Session is available to Web viewersup to 100 at a timewhenever the legislature is in session. Viewers can access the video streaming coverage by pointing their browsers to http://www.ket.org/legislature and then choosing between House and Senate sessions. KET also provides a link for downloading the free software needed to view the video streaming.
