Garth Brooks and Nanci Griffith make guest appearances
Songwriters shine during an evening of performances by Don McLean and Paul Anka, Monday, March 13 on KET and KET2.
Madonna's current success with "American Pie" is the most obvious sign of the timeless quality of Don McLean's work. The legendary songwriter lights up KET and KET2 with an evening of song during Don McLean: Starry, Starry Night, airing at 8/7 p.m. CT. This concert--McLean's first ever television special--is a tribute to one of the most popular singer/songwriters in pop music history. The concert also features guest appearances by Garth Brooks and Nanci Griffith.
Next up at 9:30/8:30 p.m. CT is Paul Anka: Night of a Lifetime. Legendary entertainer Paul Anka delivers a magical performance that includes four decades of hit songs. Accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra and the St. Paul's Choir, Anka shows why he is one of the most prolific songwriters and performers in entertainment history as he sings before a standing-room-only audience at The Mirage in Las Vegas.
Don McLean: Starry, Starry Night is produced by Lickonavision, Inc./Starry Night Music. Paul Anka: Night of a Lifetime is produced by High Five Television in association with Paul Anka Productions. Both programs are closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Viewers can find out more about programming on KET by visiting the KET Web site at http://www.ket.org, a Kentucky.com affiliate.
