Sarah Brightman takes viewers to musical paradise in Sarah Brightman: One Night in Eden , airing Wednesday, March 15, at 9:30/8:30 p.m. CT as part of KET's TeleFund 2000 .
Transcending the traditional concert performance, Sarah Brightman: One Night in Eden is a theatrical extravaganza that captures the March 13, 1999, debut of Brightman's One Night in Eden tour. Filmed with 12 cameras before a sold-out audience at South Africa's Sun City resort, the special features spectacular lighting, sets and choreography.
The performance explores a diverse range of musical styles, from the theme from Titanic , "Il Mio Cuore Va (My Heart Will Go On)," and the Bee Gees' "First of May" to Puccini's "Nessun dorma," as well as original and adapted compositions featuring Brightman's own lyrics.
Brightman thrills the audience with the title track from her gold album Time to Say Goodbye and a medley of songs from Phantom of the Opera , the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that brought Brightman international fame as the original "Christine." The enchanting soprano's interpretations of opera arias, timeless pop hymns and musical theater classics fuse sound and vision, accenting the talent of this multifaceted performer.
