One to One hosts executive director of Operation UNITE

Its mission is to rid communities of illegal drug use through undercover narcotics investigations and to coordinate treatment for substance abusers, provide support to families and friends and to educate the public about the dangers of drugs. Karen Engle, the executive director of Operation UNITE is Bill Goodman's guest on the next edition of One to One, airing Friday, Jan. 26 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1.

"UNITE" is an acronym for Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education. It was launched in April 2003 by U.S. Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers in response to the 2003 Lexington Herald-Leader special report "Prescription for Pain" and serves the 29 counties of Kentucky's 5th congressional District.

In this program, Engle discusses the drug abuse problem in Eastern Kentucky and UNITE's successes in combating it.
