Bill Goodman looks at the man behind the legislator when he sits down with Kentucky Senate President David Williams, R-Burkesville, on the next edition of One to One. The program airs Friday, Feb. 2 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1.
Currently the longest serving member in the Senate, Williams was first elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1984. Two years later, he won a seat in the Senate, where he has served 22 years. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he earned his law degree from the University of Louisville in 1977.
In this program, Goodman questions Williams on issues that aren't featured on KET's Kentucky Tonight , where he is a frequent guest, or the floor of the Senate. Topics include his boyhood in rural Kentucky, what drove him to succeed, his schooling and his plans for the future.
Goodman also delves into the policymaker's philosophy on education and the importance of coal to the state.
One to One is a KET production, produced by Bill Goodman and Cindy Asher. Following the broadcast, One to One is available for on-demand videostream viewing at www.ket.org/publicaffairs/onetoone.htm and podcasting at www.ket.org/rss.
