The course, taught by veteran educator Chuck Duncan, is a one-year independent study course that provides rigorous preparation for the AP Physics B test and the Medical College Aptitude Test. The course provides full instruction on 27 CD-ROMs.

This authorization is the College Board's official recognition that KET's Physics course meets or exceeds the expectations colleges and universities have for the subject.

Equivalent to a year-long sophomore-level college course, most students who have completed this course have scored 4 or 5 on the national AP Physics B exam.

KET also offers a complete physics introductory course and lab, which features an emphasis on concepts, and Honors Physics, designed for students who are ready for a more intensive and mathematical physics course, but not interested in Advanced Placement. This full-year course is ideal for college prep.

Duncan has been a physics teacher for 28 years, including 15 years for KET. He is a frequent presenter to state and national audiences on the use of multimedia in physics instruction and is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers and its Committee on Educational Technology. In 1991, he received the Christa MacAuliffe Fellowship from the National Foundation for the Improvement of Education.

For 17 years KET has offered distance learning courses, featuring diverse technologies and personal contact to bring standards-based courses directly to students. Today, KET offers a full palette of distance learning courses in Latin, German and the humanities as well as physics. They are designed for schools that would otherwise not be able to offer these courses.
