| Celtic Woman--A New Journey features moving music and historic surroundings |
The five young Irish women who wowed audiences in Celtic Woman return with another young singer in the cast, New Zealand-born international recording star Hayley Westenra. Celtic Woman--A New Journey , recorded at historic Slane Castle, airs Sunday, March 4 at 7/6 p.m. CT and Tuesday, March 6 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1 and Thursday, March 8 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET2 as part of KET's TeleFund 2007 . Celtic Woman was created specifically to feature the special talents of singers Chloe, Lisa, Méav, Orla and Hayley, and violinist Máiréad, and was such a success that it was developed into a touring production. TeleFund viewers will have the chance to get tickets for some of the best seats of the house when Celtic Woman brings their distinctive style of performance to Louisville April 13. Celtic Woman--A New Journey is hosted by Lord Henry Mount Charles, whose Slane Castle home is steeped in Irish history. The famous River Boyne runs through its grounds, the enigmatic Newgrange is at its door and the hill of Tara, home to the kings of Ireland, is at its rear. The performances, arranged and written by composer David Downes, are a blend of classics, contemporary hits and original material, including "Newgrange," "Scarborough Fair," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Danny Boy." Celtic Woman--A New Journey is a production of Celtic Woman Ltd. Private support constitutes the largest source of funding for KET's programs and related educational outreach.
