Louisville Life celebrates the 100th birthday of the Kentucky Nurses Association on the program airing Thursday, March 8 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2. Hosted by Candyce Clifft, this edition also turns the spotlight on Actors Theatre scenic designer Paul Owen, stops by the Portland Museum and features an interview with community activist Christopher 2X. Established in 1906, Kentucky Nurses Association is a professional organization that promot es the role nurses play in health care and advocates for quality patient care. In this segment, Louisville Life introduces viewers to an educator who has chronicled the stories of veteran nurses and learns about four Kentucky nurses who were POWs in World War II. Next, the spotlight's on Paul Owen, who shares his behind-the-scenes view after 35 years at Actors Theatre as its premier set designer. In this segment, Louisville Life views the drawings and models exhibited in early 2006 to celebrate his 35 years with the theater company. Next, Louisville Life tours the Portland Museum and shares some interesting tidbits on Louisville history, including the story of the man called "the Louisville Giant," Jim Porter. The program also contains a feature on President Zachary Taylor. While many Kentuckians think our presidential connections begin and end with Ab raham Lincoln, Louisville is actually the final resting place of our 12th c ommander in c hief.
