Viewers can i mmerse themselves in all things Bardstown when Dave Shuffett speaks with the master distiller at Jim Beam about Kentucky's unique product on the next edition of Kentucky Life , airing Saturday, April 14 at 8/7 p.m. CT and Sunday, April 15 at 4:30/3:30 p.m. CT on KET1 and Sunday, April 15 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET2. The program, taped from My Old Kentucky Home State Park, also features a Bardstown company that makes promotional products for the distilleries and a group of young people climbing the charts in the world of bluegrass music.
First, Kentucky Life stops by the internationally famous bourbon distillery in Clermont, Jim Beam, where Dave i nterviews master distiller Jerry Dalton. Viewers will learn about the process of distilling and more about the popularity of this uniquely Kentucky product.
Continuing the theme, the program next features Promotional Wood Products, a family-owned company that makes items for the distilleries near Bardstown. Among their products are custom wooden boxes and other display items produced especially for the Jim Beam Distillery.
Then, viewers meet the up-and-coming group of young musicians who perform bluegrass and call themselves Kentucky Sassafras. The group's members range in age from 12 to 17, but fans say their music is as mature as the vintage bass played by the youngest and newest member of the band , Amelia John. Other members include her sister, lead singer and founder Chloe Blayne, and two cousins from Boston, Ky., Jory Hutchens and Turner Hutchens.
