Candidate forums on KET lead up to Primary 2007: The Vote

2007 is a gubernatorial election year in Kentucky, and with contested primaries in both the Republican and Democratic parties , voters will have much to consider . In addition, voters will be choosing five other constitutional officers in November: secretary of state, attorney general, commissioner of agriculture, state treasurer and auditor of public accounts.

KET has invited all candidates on the ballot in contested primary races for statewide offices to participate in live televised forums to be broadcast from the Lexington studio. Each forum will air live on KET1, with a web simulcast, and will be archived online at www.ket.org/election . Forums air Mondays, April 9-May 14 at 8/7 p.m. CT and Thursdays, April 12- May 17 at 9/8 p.m. CT.

The forums are scheduled as follows:

Republicans for Governor I, Monday, April 9 at 8/7 p.m. CT Democrats for Governor I, Monday, April 16 at 8/7 p.m. CT Republicans for Lieutenant Governor, Monday, April 23 at 8/7 p.m. CT Democrats for Lieutenant Governor, Monday, April 30 at 8/7 p.m. CT Republicans for Governor II, Monday, May 7 at 8/7 p.m. CT Democrats for Governor II, Monday, May 14 at 8/7 p.m. CT Republicans for Commissioner of Agriculture, Thursday, April 12 at 9/8 p.m. CT Democrats for Commissioner of Agriculture, Thursday, April 12 at 9:30/8:30 p.m. CT Democrats for Secretary of State, Thursday, April 19 at 9/8 p.m. CT Democrats for State Treasurer, Thursday, April 26 at 9/8 p.m. CT Republicans for State Treasurer, Thursday, May 3 at 9/8 p.m. CT Democrats for Attorney General, Thursday, May 10 at 9/8 p.m. CT Republicans for Attorney General, Thursday, May 17 at 9/8 p.m. CT

Primary 2007: The Vote , airing on primary election day, May 22, at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1, features live returns and analysis. Hosts Bill Goodman and Renee Shaw are joined by political observers Al Cross, John David Dyche and John McGarvey .

Editor's Note: The Democratic and Republican candidates for auditor of public accounts and the Republican candidate for secretary of state did not draw primary opposition, so no forums are scheduled for those offices.
