Each year, the Governor ' s Awards in the Arts honor Kentucky individuals, businesses and organizations that make outstanding contributions to the arts in the state . KET showcases the honorees in a one-hour program, The Kentucky Governor ' s Awards in the Arts 200 6 , airing Mon day, April 2 3 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET1.
The 200 6 award recipients, honored at a ceremony held Feb. 14 , are J. Alexander Speer , Milner Award; Patricia Neal , National Award; LaVon Van Williams Jr. , Artist Award; Jewish Hospital and St. Mary's HealthCare , Business Award; Kentucky Book Fair , Community Arts Award; The Russell Orchestra , Education Award; Lewis and Donna Lamb , Folk Heritage Award; Pike County Extension for Fine Arts , Government Award; and Morehead State Public Radio , Media Award.
The program features video clips about the award winners shown during the awards ceremony in the State Capitol rotunda.
