A new season of Jubilee begins with Knoxville's Pine Mountain Railroad -- an exciting six-piece bluegrass band -- performing at the Kentucky Bluegrass Festival in Louisville . The program airs Wednesday , May 2 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1.

Pine Mountain Railroad has been performing at festivals and concerts in the U.S., Canada and overseas since their form ation in 1998 . The band has received multiple nominations from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IMBA), and they often perform at IMBA's annual Fan Fest. Pine Mountain Railroad recently took a new musical direction with the 2007 release of the fast-paced Alone with Forever .

M embers of Pine Mountain Railroad are Cody Shuler on mandolin, Bill McBee on bass, Matt Flake on fiddle, Mark Cable and Eli Johnston on guitar and Elmer Burchett on banjo.

The new season also boasts performances by Kati Penn , a bluegrass Relic , a traditional bluegrass band; acoustic ensemble Corn Island; stringband Hog Operation; Bluegrass 101; and Kentucky Sassafras, a talented band made up of member s ranging in age from 12 to 17.
