In the two weeks leading up to Primary Election Day , One to One feature s half-hour discussions with each of Kentucky's 10 candidates for governor. Host Bill Goodman asks the candidates questions both about their personal backgrounds and the issues facing the Commonwealth that they feel are most important. The programs air Monday through Friday, May 7-11 and May 14-18, at
6/5 p.m. CT on KET1.
During the first week, Anne Northup (Monday) will be asked about her experience in both the state legislature and U.S. Congress, Billy Harper (Tuesday) is questioned on his business experience, Gov. Ernie Fletcher (Wednesday) will be asked to revisit his record in office, Bruce Lunsford (Thursday) will be asked about his concerns about health care and Jody Richards (Friday) will be questioned on his plans to put Kentucky at the forefront of energy independence.
In the second week, Gatewood Galbraith (Monday) is asked to explain how his ideas differ from those of the other candidates, Jonathan Miller (Tuesday) is asked to talk about the use of Internet blogs in his campaign, Otis "Bullman" Hensley (Wednesday) is asked how his experience as a demolition contractor prepares him to be governor, Stephen Henry (Thursday) is asked about his concerns about veterans' issues and Steven Beshear (Friday) will be asked about his experience as lieutenant governor and his call for expanded gaming in Kentucky.
Goodman says "I think it is important to give people the opportunity to understand not only the candidates' position on the issues but to also learn who they are and where they are from -- in other words, to provide a complete picture of the people running for office."
