" A " might be for "alibi" -- but it's also for " author, " as One to One welcomes internationally popular mystery writer Sue Grafton on the next program , airing Friday, May 1 1 at 10/9 p . m . CT on KET2 and Sunday, May 13 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1. Bill Goodman hosts.

Grafton, author of the popular Kinsey Milhone alphabet series of mystery novels , was born and raised in Louisville and maintains a home there as well as one in Montecito, Calif. An international bestseller with a readership in the millions, according to her Web site, her latest book in the alphabet series, "S" Is for Silence , was published in 2005, with "T" Is for Trespass due out in December.

Grafton says she's a writer who believes in the mystery format. "The mystery novel offers a world in which justice is served. Maybe not in a court of law," she has said, "but people do get their just desserts."

In this interview, Goodman asks Grafton about her Kentucky background, her work and career as well as her participation in the International Mystery Writers Festival in June at Owensboro's RiverPark Center.

One to One is a KET production, produced by Bill Goodman and Cindy Asher. Following the broadcast, One to One is available for on-demand videostream viewing at www.ket.org/publicaffairs/onetoone.htm and podcasting at www.ket.org/rss.
