Louisville's Corn Island Band, a contemporary b luegrass and acoustic band , is featured on the next Jubilee , airing Wednesday, May 16 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1. The performance was recorded at the Kentucky Bl uegrass Festival in Louisville.The name Corn Island comes from the original settlement at the falls of the Ohio River , established by Gen . George Rogers Clark during the Revolutionary War . The band chose the name to reflect its Louisville roots.
The members of the Corn Island Band are Joe Brooks on g uitar and vocals , Glenn Gibson on dobro and vocals, Bobby Parton on bass, John Laswell on banjo and vocals, Peyton Ray on mandolin and vocals and Dan Scullin on mandolin and vocals. The group released a CD in 2004 titled First Crop .
Jubilee is a KET production, produced and directed by H. Russell Farmer. Duncan Hart is producer, and Nancy Carpenter is executive producer.
