Hog Operation , a high-energy bluegrass band based in Louisville, is featured on the next Jubilee , airing Wednesday, May 23 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1. The performance was recorded at the Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival in Louisville.
The band is influenced by many American roots music styles , including b lues, b luegrass , Celtic, country and r ock. Live shows include still more genres -- reggae and R & B. The group has released two CDs : New Litter , featuring all original music , and Nice Ham Bites , covering a variety of b luegrass and c ountry standards.
Members of Hog Operation include Steve Cooley on banjo , John Hawkins on acoustic guitar , Larry Raley on bass and Mike Schroeder on fiddle and mandolin .
