Bardstown's Bluegrass 101 and Kentucky Sassafras, a band whose eldest member is only 17, perform on the next Jubilee , airing Wednesday, May 30 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1. The performance s w ere recorded at the Kentucky Bluegrass Music Festival in Louisville.

Bluegrass 101 's music is based on smooth vocal harmony and precise traditional music. The band has shared the stage with some of the best known names in t he b luegrass world, including Ricky Skaggs and Doyle Lawson.

Founding member Terry Waldridge , who was raised on a Nelson County farm , plays guitar and sings lead Shelbyville resident Michael Yount plays bass and sings baritone Jim Armstrong plays fiddle and sings tenor Louisvillian Ben Read plays mandolin and sings bass; and Cody Pearman, who attends North Harding High School in Vine Grove, Ky., plays banjo . Their newest release is titled "Sunday Morning Gospel."

Kentucky Sassafras is a traditional bluegrass band whose members range in age from 12 to 17. Chloe Blayne is the band's lead singer. She also plays a variety of instruments, including banjo, bass and the pennywhistle. Other members of Kentucky Sassafras are Tyler Mullins on guitar and banjo, Jory Hutchens on fiddle, Turner Hutchens on mandolin and Amelia John on bass. Their CD is titled Grass It Up!

Jubilee is a KET production, produced and directed by H. Russell Farmer. Duncan Hart is producer, and Nancy Carpenter is executive producer. The Kentucky Bluegrass Festival is organized by Bisig Impact Group.
