Stage One, Waldorf School, Jazz Factory on Louisville Life

Louisville Life features a profile of Stage One, Louisville's nationally acclaimed professional theater for young audiences, on the next edition , airing Thursday, May 31 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT and Sunday, June 3 at noon/11 a . m . CT on KET2. Hosted by Candyce Clifft, the program also features a look at Louisville's Waldorf School, part of the largest and fastest growing independent school system in the world, and poetry readings at the downtown club The Jazz Factory.

Stage One regularly produces quality live theater for young people and families . This segment looks at the theater's 60th anniversary season , including a pe e k at performances of childhood favorites Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Narnia . The program also includes a profile of other Louisville theater groups that celebrat ed milestones in 2006, including the Blue Apple Players.

Next, Louisville Life presents a profile of Louisville's Waldorf School, part of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. These schools strive to provide high-quality education for children in a creative and supportive learning environment, based on the research of early 20th-century Austrian educator and philosopher Dr. Rudolf Steiner.

Each month, the Jazz Factory in downtown Louisville hosts a spoken-word event that pairs improvisational jazz musicians with eager writer-readers. It's a chance for local writers to express themselves on stage, while adding a whole new dimension to their performances through jazz. This segment features a variety of acclaimed poets, including Amelia Blossom Pegram, whose poems, short stories, critical essays, book reviews and theater criticism have been published internationally and translated into several languages.
