K ET's AP Latin Literature course, delivered via distance learning to students in Kentucky and around the country, has received accreditation by the College Board as an advanced placement course, making it eligible for college credit. This is the second distance learning course at KET to be accredited by the College Board; KET's AP Physics B course was accredited earlier this year. Latin Literature, taught by veteran educator Ann Denny, is a one-year independent study course that provides rigorous preparation for the AP Latin Literature exam . In this course, students read authentic works from Latin authors, concentrating in particular on Horace and Catullus.
KET also offers Latin I, II and III , which emphasize vocabulary, Roman history and culture, Greco-Roman mythology , and original Latin works from the end of the Roman republic and early empire.
Denny has more than 30 years experience in education, both in the public and private sectors. She has been an assistant principal, a classroom English and Latin teacher and a technology resource teacher. Denny has taught at the middle and high school levels. She is a frequent presenter at the Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference, showing teachers new ways to integrate technology with their core area content. Denny holds a bachelor's degree in English and a master's in reading from the University of Kentucky .
