Bill Goodman and One to One welcome Robert Sexton, founding executive director of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, on the next program, airing Friday, June 22 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sunday, June 24 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1.Sexton, who has served as the head of the Prichard Committee since its founding in 1980, is the author of Mobilizing Citizens for Better Schools . In it, he describes how the organization was created " to galvanize the citizens of Kentucky to attack the state's historic educational deficits." The book is based on his wealth of experience with the Prichard Committee and provides guidance for citizens of all states who are interested in implementing school reform.
According to the Prichard Committee, its campaigning helped prepare the way for the passage of the Kentucky Education Reform Act in 1990. Today, the organization continues to work on behalf of school reform.
