T he W ar , a new seven-part documentary series directed and produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, explores the history and horror of the Second World War from an American perspective by following the fortunes of so-called ordinary men and women who become caught up in one of the greatest cataclysms in human history. The series premieres on KET in September.

A behind-the-scenes, sneak-peek program, PBS P reviews: The War - A Ken Burns Film , offers a first look at the film and its creation. The preview program airs Sunday s , July 1 and 29 at 10:30/9:30 p . m . CT on KET1 and Thursdays, July 5 and 26 at

10:30/9:30 p.m. CT on KET2.

The preview provides excerpts from the documentary , insights from on-screen participants, a behind-the-scenes looks at the production and thoughts from co-producers Burns and Novick on the importance of creating this series at this time.
