Ballard Wildlife Management Area |
Kentucky Life features a breathtaking look at eagles in Western Kentucky. The program airs Saturday, July 14 at 8/7 p.m. CT and Sunday, July 15 at 4:30/3:30 p.m. CT on KET1 and S unday, July 15 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET2. Dave Shuffett hosts.
Dave heads for the Ballard Wildlife Management Area in far Western Kentucky, a beautiful place that has drawn the Kentucky Life team back time and again. This time, they spend a few chilly February days in the company of 125,000 of its most famous visitors, migrating geese and other waterfowl. They also try to catch a glimpse of that most famous of birds, our national symbol, the bald eagle.
Next, the program travels to Eastern Kentucky for a taste of farm life at the Farm House Bed & Breakfast. Here, there are all the traditional elements of a working farm, from a big country breakfast to cattle grazing in yonder pasture. But there's an added attraction: the great hiking trails, rock shelters and waterfalls Eastern Kentucky is famous for.
Finally, Kentucky Life visits Ohio County, where time stands still at the Beaver Dam Café. With chain restaurants and fast-food operations now a fixture in the American landscape, this café has stood the test of time. Viewers meet Margaret Belford, who has been part of the café since she was a young girl.
