Bill S amuels, Jr., president of Maker' s Mark, discusses his distinguished family heritage in the world of bourbon making on the next One to One , airing Friday, July 20 at 10/9 pm CT on KET2 and Sunday, July 22 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1 . Bill Goodman hosts.The Samuels family began distilling in 1780. It was Samuels ' father who purchased a small distillery in Marion County now known as Maker ' s Mark Distillery. Recognized by its distinctive red wax top, Maker ' s Mark is sold throughout the world.
Samuels recently authored Maker's Mark: My Autobiography , a book that take s readers on a guided tour of the old-fashioned distillery, describes how bourbon is made, explains what makes an excellent bourbon, and includes food and drink recipes .
Maker's Mark: My Autobiography also touches on the brand's advertising history and Samuels ' reputation as a daring marketer. On the program, Samuels discusses his offbeat approach to reaching new customers.
