Lassie's Pet Vet is a new how-to pet care series hosted by respected veterinarian Dr. Jeff Werber and Lassie, the world ' s most famous dog. In each episode, Dr. Jeff and Lassie present a series of vignettes focusing on pet health, pet lifestyle and pet community. The program airs Fridays, beginning July 20 at 5:30/4:30 p.m. CT on KET2.The premiere episode spotlights Best Friends, the largest animal rescue g roup in the world, and their efforts to save animals in need in war-torn Lebanon. Also, viewers meet Cathy, a psychotherapist who hated cats until a severe fire brought her face to face with Henry, a three-legged cat. And, Ken, a.k.a. the Bird Whisperer, plays peacemaker by building harmonious relationships between fearful birds and fearful people.
In the following edition, equestrian therapy help s children with disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy to autism. The program also features Duke the English Bulldog , who carried his human, Pat , though the most devastating times of her life . Also, viewers meet the handlers from th e competitive dog show circuit.
And later in the season, Lassie's Pet Vet spotlights an entertaining gift for pets -- sheep-herding camp Stephanie Brown, the animal communicator who works telepathically with animals to help bridge gaps between pets and their parents ; and an amusing tour of the Cat ' s House, Francis and Bob ' s haven for cats which includes the world ' s largest catwalk.
