Tony Bennett, the man that Frank Sinatra called "the best singer in the business," is profiled on the next edition of American Masters . "Tony Bennett : The Music Never Ends" airs Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 9/8 p.m. CT on KET1 and Tuesday , Sept. 1 8 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET2.Bennett has been in the music industry for more than 50 years, selling over 50 million records and winning 15 Grammys. The program includes coverage of Bennett's 2005 Monterey Jazz Festival performance and interviews at his home and painting studio.
This reflection on Bennett's life and music is amplified by a rich historical archive and the voices of numerous close friends, including director Arthur Penn, with whom he served in WWII; Harry Belafonte, with whom he marched in Selma, Alabama; and Clint Eastwood, the film's executive producer.
