U.S. Representative John Yarmuth (D), who serves Kentucky's 3rd district (Louisville-Jefferson County Metro), is Bill Goodman's next guest on One to One . The program airs at a new time: Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2/1 p.m. CT on KET1 and Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2.Yarmuth is the founder of the Louisville Eccentric Observer ( LEO ) , a 15-year-old weekly newspaper. A native of Louisville, Yarmuth is a 1965 graduate of Atherton High School, where he was student government president, and a 1969 graduate of Yale University, with a degree in American Studies. Yarmuth is also the founder and president of the Center for Kentucky Progress, a progressive think tank on Kentucky issues.
In 2004, Yarmuth was named "Person of the Year" by the Louisville Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. He also serves as a director of the Jewish Community Center, the Society of Professional Journalists, Planned Parenthood and the Louisville Forum.
On the program, Yarmuth discusses his service on various committees, his work in journalism and the media , and the challenges and opportunities facing the 3rd district.
