New seasons of Masterpiece Theatre , Frontline , Nature , Louisville Life part of KET's fall lineup

KET's fall programming lineup includes an Emmy-award winning Kentucky series, a supermarket manager who finds herself a member of Parliament, the secret world of crossword puzzlers, a honeybee mystery and much more.

KET's Emmy-award winning Louisville Life enters its second season Thursday, Oct. 4. Highlights this season include interviews with Louisville area World War II veterans, and artist Bill Green, who discusses his Lebowski Fest posters.

Masterpiece Theatre 's new season , beginning Sunday, Oct. 21, features "The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard , " starring Jane Horrocks ( Absolutely Fabulous ). Mrs. Pritchard is a supermarket manager, wife and mother who unexpectedly runs for Parliament.

Frontline 's new season , which begins Tuesday, Oct. 16, includes "Cheney's Law , " an examination of the behind-closed-doors battle waged by Vice President Dick Cheney over the power of the presidency and the rule of law. Other highlights are "Showdown with Iran , " which traces the tumultuous history of U.S.-Iran relations since 9/11, and "The Undertaking , " a look at the world of poet and undertaker Thomas Lynch.

A new season of Independent Lens kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 16 with the theatrical hit "Wordplay , " which follows New York Times puzzle editor Will Shortz. Other highlights include " An Unreasonable Man , " "Banished , " which explores the ugly history of American towns that violently expelled their African-American communities; and "Miss Mavajo , " a look at a unique Native-American pageant that challenges mainstream ideas of beauty.

Nature 's 26th season begins Sunday, Oct. 28 with "Silence of the Bees , " which follows scientists' race to solve the mystery of honeybees' "colony collapse disorder." The season continues with "In the Valley of the Wolves , " "The Cheetah Orphans , " and "The Beauty of Ugly , " which features hagfish, naked mole rats and the ugliest bu g in Oklahoma.

Also, Ken Burns's epic documentary about World War II, The War , continues airing this fall.
