The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration recently awarded KET a grant of $500,000 through the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program, a program designed to help public broadcasting stations and others bring educational and cultural programming to the American public.
The grant will allow KET to make some essential technical upgrades, including the purchase of high-definition studio cameras and equipment.
KET Executive Director Malcolm Wall said, “This grant provides another milestone in our continuing efforts to fully implement high-definition production. We look forward to producing more high-quality local documentaries and educational programming that will have the added benefit of high-definition.”
