KET kicks off WinterPledge 2007 with an eclectic collection of programs featuring the sounds of the golden age of rock.In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death, a concert was staged at the Pyramid Arena in his hometown of Memphis. Through modern technology, Elvis was reunited with his original TCB band, backup singers, and musical director in Elvis Lives: The 25th Anniversary Concert. It airs Saturday, Nov. 24 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET1 and Sunday, Nov. 25 at 4/3 p.m. CT on KET2.
In Roy Orbison & Friends—Black and White Night, airing Saturday, Nov. 24 at 9:30/8:30 p.m. CT on KET1, Roy is joined by Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang, Bonnie Raitt, Steven Soles, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits and more in concert.
The Boss reunites with the Sessions Band for a unique concert documenting his vision of American music. Bruce Springsteen with the Sessions Band Live in Dublin, which includes folk, blues, Dixieland, country, swing, gospel, rock and his own compositions, airs Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11/10 p.m. CT on KET1 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 11/10 p.m. CT on KET2.
Barry Williams, best known as Greg Brady, hosts My Music: The ’70s Experience, which features new and archival performances of some of the decade’s best-loved tunes. It airs Saturday, Nov. 24 at 6/5 p.m. CT and Sunday, Nov. 25 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 9:30/8:30 p.m. CT on KET1.
My Music: The British Beat, airing Sunday, Nov. 25 at 10/9 p.m. CT on KET1 and Monday, Dec. 3 at 8/7 p.m. CT on KET2, features a mix of rare archival full-length performances and new live shows recorded throughout the UK at legendary clubs and hot spots.
