WinterPledge 2007, KET’s on-air membership drive held Nov. 24, 25 and Dec. 1-6, exceeded its goal this year with nearly $400,000 in pledges. Many Kentuckians pledged their financial support of KET programs and services, and more than 52 percent of this year’s WinterPledge donors are new members of KET.
Three of the programs receiving the most viewer response during this drive were Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration; American Soundtrack: Doo Wop's Best; and Johnny Mathis – Wonderful, Wonderful! “We extend a heartfelt thanks to KET’s 32,000-member family,” said Michele Ripley, president of the Commonwealth Fund for KET. “Member support, together with that of our phone volunteers, sponsors and in-kind donors, reflects what they value about KET –– quality programs that inform and inspire and are safe for the whole family.”
The private funds raised during WinterPledge advance the mission and services of KET. Part of the $5 million contributed annually to KET, they enable KET to continue delivering programs for and about Kentucky as well as national PBS favorites.
