The next Louisville Life visits two KET productions, gets in touch with the spiritual side of Louisville and meets a woman who helps families in crisis. The program, hosted by Candyce Clifft, airs Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT; Friday, Feb. 22 at 4/3 p.m. CT; and Sunday, Feb. 24 at noon/11 a.m. CT on KET2.

First, viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the Univeristy of Louisville’s Kentucky Author Forum interview series, which is recorded and broadcast by KET. This segment focuses on a recent visit with famed journalist and author Tom Brokaw. Mary Moss Greenebaum, the producer and founder of Kentucky Author Forum, walks Louisville Life through the preparation and production of the program.

Then, Louisville Life features an excerpt of KET’s new arts series Kentucky Muse. Louisville author Kirby Gann is one of three writers profiled in the upcoming Muse episode “A Novel Approach.” The program catches up with Gann, author of The Barbarian Parade: Or, Pursuit of the Un-American Dream and Our Napoleon in Rags, at Sarabande Books, the nonprofit literary press where he is managing editor.

Next, the program examines the history of the Archdiocese of Louisville. Designated an archdiocese in 1937, it is a center for worship, art, spirituality and social service.

Then, Candyce interviews Denise Vasquez Troutman, president and CEO of the Center for Women and Families. The center serves women and families affected by domestic violence, rape and economic hardship.

Finally, Louisville Life looks at the Kentucky Arts Council’s craft marketing program. The program aims to develop and preserve the state’s craft industry and support Kentucky artisans.

Louisville Life is a KET production, produced and directed by Gary Pahler. Charlee Heaton is producer of the Kentucky Author Forum segment. Jayne McClew is co-producer and writer; associate producer is Kelli Brodersen. More information about Louisville Life, including streaming video, is available at www.ket.org/loulife.
