KET brings home six awards from National Educational Telecommunications Association
The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) honored KET with two trophies in instructional media, one in program production and three in promotion as part of their annual conference, held recently in Columbus, Ohio. More than 20 public broadcasters from across the U.S. were presented awards in the areas of program production, promotion, outreach and instructional media.

“KET is honored to be one of the most recognized public television licensees at this year’s NETA awards,” said Malcolm Wall, KET’s executive director. “These awards are a testament to the outstanding services to the public provided by KET’s dedicated arts, education and communications staffs.”

KET’s Literacy Strategies in Action was named best in-service resource for primary school teachers. Also winning for instructional media was Art to Heart, an eight-part series about the importance of the arts as a form of early self-expression for children.

The Everlasting Stream won in the dramatic narrative category. The program, an adaptation of Walt Harrington’s memoir by the same name, recalls Harrington’s first hunting trip with his father-in-law and his friends in Barren County.

KET’s marketing of the magazine series Louisville Life was a double winner in the promotion category. The entire Louisville Life promotional campaign was honored, as was an individual component of the campaign, a parody of a “Life” cereal box. In the institutional promotion category for large markets, KET’s Brand Video also won first place.
