TeleFund 2008, KET’s on-air fund-raising event held March 1 through 16, exceeded its goal this year with more than $758,000 in pledges, making it the second most successful membership drive in KET’s 40-year history.
John Denver: A Song’s Best Friend and KET’s Kentucky Life special Lincoln: ‘I, too, am a Kentuckian.’ both received outstanding statewide responses.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to each of our donors, whose response reaffirms that the people of Kentucky and surrounding states value quality, trusted programs that inform, inspire and are safe for the whole family,” said Michele Ripley, president of the Commonwealth Fund for KET. “The support of KET’s 32,000-member family, along with the generosity of nearly 1,000 phone volunteers, sponsors and in-kind donors, enables KET to continue to make Kentucky a better place by delivering quality national and local programming and providing outstanding educational and outreach services.”
Some $5 million in private support is contributed annually to advance KET’s mission.
