Lucille Jackson, owner and operator of Hunter’s Hatters in Lexington, is Renee’s guest on the next Connections with Renee Shaw, airing Saturday, May 3 at 3/2 p.m. CT on KET1 and Sunday, May 11 at 11:30/10:30 a.m. CT on KET2.
Jackson spent 30 years as a first-grade teacher in Anderson and Fayette counties, but since 1984, she’s been selling hats. She adds plenty of accoutrements to the hats she buys, including silk flowers, feathers and jewels, to prepare them for her customers.
On the program, Jackson discusses her transition from teacher to business owner, why she chose to work with hats and how the right hat always suits the wearer’s personality. She also talks about her busiest time of the year –– the weeks leading up to the Kentucky Derby.
Connections with Renee Shaw is a KET production, produced by Renee Shaw and Carolyn Gwinn. More information about Connections, including streaming video, is available at www.ket.org/connections.
