For Release: 2008-04-28 13:25:00

On the next Connections with Renee Shaw, Renee interviews Saundra Ardrey, political science professor and chair of the political science department at Western Kentucky University, and Bowling Green attorney Osi Onyekwuluje. The program, taped at WKU’s School of Journalism, airs Saturday, May 10 at 3/2 p.m. CT on KET1 and Sunday, May 18 at 11:30/10:30 a.m. CT on KET2.

The trio discusses this year’s local and national elections, with a specific focus on African-American politicians running for office. Renee asks if race matters in the presidential election and to whom does it matter. The group goes on to talk about the youth vote and how student activism will affect the elections.

Connections with Renee Shaw is a KET production, produced by Renee Shaw and Carolyn Gwinn. More information about Connections, including streaming video, is available at www.ket.org/connections. More information about KET programming and education services, as well as how to support KET, can be found at www.ket.org.
