KET has recently been recognized with several national awards for programs about the people and places of the Commonwealth.KET won three Tellys in the 28th Annual Telly Awards competition, which recognizes the best local, regional and cable television programs and excellence in video and film production. Telly awards went to videographers Jason Robinson, John Schroering and Frank Simkonis. Schroering and Robinson were recognized for their work on Kentucky Life and Simkonis for Where the River Bends: A History of Northern Kentucky.
The Everlasting Stream, a 2006 documentary based on the memoir of the same name by Walt Harrington, received a platinum “best in show” Aurora Award in the cultural documentary category. Producers Walt Harrington and Timothy Bischoff, and co-producer and videographer Matt Grimm were recognized.
“Congratulations to these television professionals who continue to demonstrate KET’s leadership as a producer of compelling documentaries about Kentucky,” said Malcolm Wall, KET executive director.
