On the next edition of Louisville Life, viewers go behind-the-scenes of Antiques Roadshow’s 2007 visit to Louisville and visit the Embroiders’ Guild of America, the city of Glendale and more. The final part of Louisville Life’s spotlight on antiques airs Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:30/6:30 p.m. CT on KET2; Friday, Sept. 5 at 5:30/4:30 p.m. CT on KET2; and Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7/6 p.m. CT on KET1.First, Louisville Life learns why thousands of people stood in long lines to participate in Antiques Roadshow’s visit to Louisville last summer. Viewers meet host Mark L. Walberg, executive producer Marsha Bemko and appraiser Wes Cowan, who was born in Louisville.
Next, the program visits the Embroiderers’ Guild of America, a national non-profit organization headquartered in Louisville. Executive Director Anita Streeter shares the guild’s diverse embroidery collection.
Then, Louisville Life heads to a popular mainstay on Market Street, Joe Ley Antiques, which has been delighting collectors, builders and the curious for nearly four decades.
Back at the studio, Candyce interviews John Hassman, owner of A Taste of Kentucky, which offers gifts and products that have a distinct Kentucky flavor. Hassman talks about the history of the business, current top-sellers and how his customers sometimes become ambassadors for Kentucky.
Louisville Life also highlights historic Glendale, a small Hardin County town that contains more than a dozen antique and gift shops within a two-block radius.
