Brazile
Brazile

Donna Brazile, a political commentator on CNN’s Inside Politics and American Morning and veteran strategist for numerous national and statewide political campaigns, is the next guest on Connections with Renee Shaw. The program airs Friday, Sept. 12 at 4/3 p.m. CT on KET2 and Sunday, Sept. 14 at 1:30/12:30 p.m. CT on KET1.

Brazile discusses her career in politics, which began at age 9 when she lobbied for a new playground in her hometown of Kenner, La. She went on to become the first African American to lead a major presidential campaign when she managed Al Gore’s race in 2000. Gore’s was her seventh presidential campaign, and she has also worked on more than 50 congressional campaigns and 19 state and local campaigns.

Brazile also talks about her life at home, including her love of cooking; the influence of her parents, grandparents and the Catholic Church; and how her family was disrupted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The political pundit shares her thoughts on a few of her career missteps, the new generation black political leaders and the current presidential race. She also discusses her 2004 book, Cooking with Grease: Stirring the Pots in America.

Connections with Renee Shaw is a KET production, produced by Shaw and Carolyn Gwinn. More information about Connections, including streaming video, is available at www.ket.org/connections.
